SYNTHIUS is focused on creating technology for synthesizing lifelike, believable, and expressive "humans." With potential applications in such areas as entertainment, games, and health care, the project is using biomechanics, motion capture, and robotics, as well as theories of social behaviour and emotional models, to develop a virtual person able to respond to the world as we do.
